Thinking about Fostering ?
Do you have lots of Questions?
If you are seriously thinking about fostering children and young people you will more than likely have a lot of questions. Things such as:
- Am I suitable?
- How do I apply?
- What financial support do I get?
- How can I get training and support?
At Ikon Fostering we understand how important it is to make a fully informed decision, so we have mapped out some of the answers on this website. See below.
What is Fostering?
The looking after of children and young people who are in need of a stable, safe, nourishing family environment is what is called Fostering.
Many foster carers report back saying how rewarding fostering is and how it has changed their lives just as much as it has for the children and young people in their care.
Who can Foster?
Married, single, over 21, over 50, homeowner, tenant, people of all cultural backgrounds… your ability to nurture and care for a child is really what is most important.
